Kara Lachapelle serves as RIHousing’s Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Lachapelle joined the agency in 2001 as an Assistant Controller and was later promoted to Controller in 2007 and Director of Finance in 2010. In 2013, Ms. Lachapelle was promoted to her current role as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the agency, Ms. Lachapelle held various positions in public accounting at Rooney, Plotklin & Willey, LLP, where she specialized in governmental and non-profit audit clients.  Ms. Lachapelle also previously worked in the Trust Department at Durfee Attleboro Bank.

She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant College. In 2015 she was awarded the CFO of the Year at a Quasi-Government Agency by the Providence Business News.

Bernadette MacArthur serves as RIHousing’s Director of Finance. Ms. MacArthur joined the agency in 2014 as a Public Finance Analyst and was promoted to Secondary Marketing Manager in 2017. In 2019, she was promoted to her current role as Director of Finance. Prior to joining the agency, Ms. MacArthur held analyst positions on the Treasury and Balance Sheet Strategies Team at Citizens Bank, where she specialized in liquidity analysis and asset and liability forecasting.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island.
